I certainly got the VIP treatment at the Sacramento Children’s Home crab feed/auction fund raiser this year. Last night, I had a blast at their annual event. It started with a limo ride from my home to the event venue in Folsom, then continued with table-side service all night. All the crab I could eat was placed right in front of me and I never had to lift a finger.

How did I rate such great personal attention? Well, actually I was just a parasitic guest of Lila Wallrich who sponsored the VIP table at the fund raiser.

There were some amazing items up for bidding during both the silent and live auctions, such as an LA Rams jersey autographed by NFC Champion quarterback, Jared Goff. Most of the items available were clearly out of my price range, but they were fun to look at.

Speaking of out of my price range, these cakes were auctioned off as desserts after the crab had been served. The cheapest cake sold went for $1400. So, obviously, I did not have a piece of cake that night. But that’s okay. I did find something to sate my sweet tooth.

I got this awesome little cookie just for having a seat at the big kids’ table. The cookie wasn’t all I got, either.

There was lots of this stuff flowing at my table as well, because what better way to get people into the spirit of a fund raiser and loosen up those pocketbooks.

It was a lovely evening and I can’t wait to do it again next year. I already have my ticket since Lila agreed to sponsor the VIP table again in 2020. I guess it just pays to know the right people.
