There are many Halloween-themed stories and anthologies being released this time of year. I myself have several drabbles and short stories coming out this month with publishers like Black Hare Press, Fantasia Divinity Publishing, and Blood Song Books. I hope you will seek them out and see what kind of wonderful prose they have to offer.

In the meantime, I wanted to post a small sampling to get everyone in the mood for the Halloween season. This is a little drabble I wrote for the holidays entitled, “Party in the Woods.” Please enjoy!

PARTY IN THE WOODS

by G. Allen Wilbanks

Faith looked around the small clearing, observing the assortment of teenagers that had gathered. Several of the boys were currently surrounding a beer keg, filling red plastic cups.

“What are we doing here?” She asked.

“It’s a party,” answered Thomas.

“It’s Halloween, and we’re in the woods in the middle of the night.”

“Exactly,” he said. “It’s the perfect time and the perfect place for a party.”

Faith stood up.

“Where do you think you’re going?” asked Thomas.

“I’m going home. I’ve seen this movie before, and I don’t want any part of it. It isn’t going to end well.”
