2019 is almost over, and what a wonderful year it has been. In the past 12 months I have had over 120 stories accepted for publication in 54 separate magazines and anthologies. Over one hundred thousand words written. I consider that to be quite an accomplishment.

So, what is in the works for 2020? I’m thinking of changing things up just a little bit. While I have greatly enjoyed writing short stories and drabbles during the last year, my true goal as a writer is to write novels. When I published my first novel (When Darkness Comes) in 2017, my plan was to publish a new book each year. That train got derailed in a hurry.

In 2018, I completed the first draft of two novels. Instead of editing, rewriting, and publishing these books, they have since been laying in a drawer gathering dust.

Well, no more!

My resolution for 2020 is to let these novels finally see the light of day. Short stories will need to take a backseat for a short time while I work on getting my books published. There are, of course, a few projects that I have already started that I will continue to work on: The Dark Drabble series and 7 Deadly Sins books from Dark Hare Press, as well as the Elemental Drabbles series from Fantasia Divinity. I would like to see these projects all the way through to the end.

There are also a few side projects I’m writing that I have agreed to keep quiet for a little while longer. As soon as I have the green light to talk about them, I certainly will, but for now I can only tell you to keep checking my website for updates.

But other than the commitments I have already made, I probably will not be seeking out too much additional work. I hope nobody forgets about me while I crawl into my writing cave and disappear for a while.

I want to finish this post by saying thank you to everyone who has read and enjoyed my stories, and to the publishers who took the risk of including my tales in their anthologies and magazines. You have made 2019 a memorable year, and I hope that 2020 brings a whole slew of new wonderful things for all of us.

See you then.
